The family empowerment wellbeing program: An empowerment progran targeting youth unemployment.

The family empowerment wellbeing program is a program created by a group of indigenous Australians from the "stolen generation" in response to the inequality facing the Australian indigenous population. The program is designed to highlight the influence our social context has on the way we respond to situations, with the hope that with this knowledge, we will be able to respond more positively in the future (Family Wellbeing, 2014).

Basically, the program shows us why we act and react the way we do, giving us the chance to consider if there is a better way we can go about things. This can give us a new outlook, helping us build  positive relationships and make the most of good opportunities, which is an extremely helpful way of getting ahead.

This new outlook is a particularly useful tool in empowering people stuck in unemployment. The link below leads to a discussion focusing on basic human needs and how this has impacted on a group of unemployed youth.
